“This girl is authentic... I'm still mystified by the depth of her range.”
— Jim Leitch (review of Girls With Guitars showcase at the Media Club, Vancouver)
"Christie Rose is an amazing songwriter, stroryteller and performer that sings with strength and subtlety. I highly recommend you book this chick!"
-- Ms. Cory Philley, Shadbolt Centre for the Arts
Since arriving in Vancouver in 2004, Christie’s song writing has taken shape in the city's course of life, amongst circles and scenes where music and poetry converge. With a reverent awe of songwriters like Paul Simon, John Prine, and Joni Mitchell, hers are lyric-driven songs that could stand alone as poems, combined with striking melodies, delivered with a voice both powerful and nuanced. Her debut album “…and even the lion tamer’s got that same old blues…” is marked by shades of rockabilly, folk, doo-wop, rock n roll, and atmospheric ballads.
In addition to performing as a solo artist and front woman, she has also been active as a live back-up and studio musician/singer, most recently touring with groups including The Harpoonist & The Axe Murderer, and Miss Quincy & The Showdown.
Christie is currently working on arrangements for her latest songs, preparing to embark on new recording projects in 2018.
